Sigh

Talk about things happening in a bunch

So dad couldn't get his stent done today. Despite them actually taking his bloods about a week ago, only yesterday did someone bother to look and ta-dah, his kidneys have been affected by the heart meds. Jeezuz.
So he was admitted in a hurry yesterday. And he was v grumpy when I went to spend time with him - and no wonder, instead of taking one step forward, its like a step back. He's been asking why no one saw the test results before that... humm wonder if there's a case for litigation here. Anyway, he's in for 10001 scans and tests. Hope he gets better soon, and the kidneys aren't damaged permanently.
The stent has to be postponed until they can sort this out.

THEN!
My dad's older bro, has been in ICU for 10 days!
He had fallen after coming back from my cousin's place on Christmas or Christmas Eve.

Sigh, that side of the family decided not to say anything for the longest time to us cos they were worried about dad. My point is that if you don't tell him then, if something *touch wood* should happen to uncle, man - now that's when he'd prob keel over from anger.

Uncle Henry looks like he's a lil bit out of it. He's got tubes sticking in and out etc etc so of course the family's all like.... whoa... on edge.

Arghk.

Watta start to the new year.

And Gene is getting sicker.

Happy New Year!

Wow, finally 2007 is over and done with... but my husband, and several good friends are down with the flu!
The poor man is so sick but he still thinks he wants to go to work tomorrow. *sigh*
Had a hard time trying to tuck him into bed just now. Stubborn as a mule that one.

But am hoping that I can fend off the germs from everyone till Thurs! Cos that's when dad goes for his heart stent, some risk there cos his artery is angled some fangled way. (ooo, that rhymed)

Last night, on the eve, we were on the rooftop of the Esplanade building - had an invite to the private party, we drove in early, so we got in before all the roads closed down.
We took the MRT, met some of G's mates for drinks, then we took the MRT back. Man, the crowds who were there to catch the fireworks was insane!!!!!

But on the rooftop, it was nice and civil. The view was fantastic.
But think G drank a bit too much, and was feeling a wee bit off, even though he didn't let on that he was feeling weird till after we got home!

And as we left, we took the top of the lotus down - erh, that may have been a bad move in hindsight. The car was the centre of attraction for the hordes of people who were trying to leave the esplanade on foot!!! Aiyo, so many pple gawked and took photos and videos. Sooo pai seh.

Today, I made him sign up for yoga.... so we're both going to try that for the new year.
I am supposed to do it cos it is supposed to help in my healing for the slipped discs, says the physio. I guess it can't hurt. Expensive as heck, but sigh, it should do me some good.

Initially, Gene was like... "wwwhaaat? you want me to do yoga????"

We did a class when we were in Bali last month, and that was really good, so he was a wee bit more open to the idea. So it took a bit of prodding, but after we signed up, we did our very first class in the late afternoon!
Think he likes it... thankfully!

So that's yet another activity that we can do together.

am hoping for a better year ahead, with less health worries and more love and money!
Heh, yes, the bonus is definitely necessary this year. Feeling the pinch still from being away from work for 10 months.
It's so scary to think how much I need this salary.

*ulps*

And how things can go so so sooo wrong if i can't work for a length of time.

Okay, will try to set aside those negative thoughts for now, and focus on love and the good things now.

Kisses to everyone, from Nat and Gene
