Adjusting to a whole new life
Alright. It's week 2 into my new job as a corporate communications manager, and man, I am sleepy.
Primarily because these days I am up around 7 am to dress up and put on the layers of make up so I can be on the road by 8 am.
Arriving at 8.30 am in the office, fully coiffed and in corporate mode is well, unusual for me to say the least.
Okay, before I go into the sordid details: Have you watched Iron Man?
If you haven't: do! do! Fallen in love with Robert Downy Jr all over again. Oops, sorry gene.
We always knew that he could act, and he was pretty good on screen - and he did buff up for the role as well.
Gwen P - sigh, not much I can say there. Wasn't horribly inspired, but then again, how does one hold up against the likes to Downey Jr. That said, Jeff Bridges, wasn;t too bad. A tad bit of overacting towards the end, but hey!
Watched that on Friday with Gene and Mom. Mom liked it but said the ending was a bit abrupt, I thought it was fine. Gene strangely didn't think the movie was so hot. But then again, he likes B-grades. Snigger.
Another part of the new life: we've moved back to Gene's parents' place. Sigh. It's strange not having your own place after years on our own, but his parents are being really nice about it.
Am feeling massive guilt about not spending enough time with mom though.
But its been kinda hard. Splitting myself in different directions; new home, new job, mom and all... its been a little bit tough. Sometimes I feel as if I'm going to split at the seams or die from the guilt.
Anyway, I gotta run, have to go help babysit someone at a cocktail affair. Ah the things we do for our jobs!
Ciao for now
