On the eve of 2008

Man, I don't know whether I'm happy or sad that 2007 is almost over.
It's passed by so fast, it's awfully scary.
And there have been really awful things that have happened, but at the same time, there have been experiences that I have been profoundly grateful for and very contented about:

So for what it's worth; here's my round up of the year.

Gnat's bites of 2007

The best

- Gene is currently possibly the happiest consultant in NUH. Yep, he made consultant and he's got himself a new ride. Her name is Lotus "Snowy Elizabeth" Elise.
- Mom and Dad were baptised on Christmas Day. And they were on the front page of ST too (the wonders of having a daughter working in the paper... and the ignominy too)
- making it down a black diamond ski skope - albeit it was a mistake, cos we didn't check out the runs until we took the skilift, by then, it was TOO late and we HAD to get down.
- Hitting my wonder wight of 46 kgs (lightest since before JC!)
- Coming back to Singapore and of course enjoying the largesse of cheap hawker food.
- Coming back to Friends and Family, but having friends from Rochy come visit too!
- Coming back to my car!!!!
- Going hog wild shopping in my last few weeks in America
- Diving and seeing Mola Mola (!) in Bali
- Jaunting around Berlin and Germany

The worst

- Falling while snowboarding and limping around for a month. Plus the crutches were rubbing my underarms raw.
- The series of health scares for the family, Dad's heart condition was revealed and my darned slipped discs are still causing numbness in my left arm and leg
- Watching my bank account drain away while I wasn't working.
- Eating uncontrollably and watching my weight balloon back to original (crap!)
- The death of a good pal from JC. He was one of the five national sportsmen who drowned in Cambodia after their dragonboat flipped over. He was 31 years old.
- TS's cancer diagnosis - we're wishing you love and support, TS if you're reading this
- Coming back to 12 to 14 hour work days and finding out that I kinda suck at this job. Plus weekend and night duties. And a sucky pay.
- My massive acne outbreak, which is thankfully getting a bit better. The beautician figures its the moving from one place to another etc etc type of stress.
- Moving boxes and boxes of stuff from Rochester, MN home and finding out that thinsg have gone missing.
- Leaving the good pals we made in Rochester.
